Madisonville Officer Possibly Injured After Patrol Vehicle Hydroplanes on Highway 21

Madisonville, Texas – A Madisonville Police Department officer was taken to the hospital Tuesday after his patrol vehicle crashed while responding to a separate fatal wreck on Highway 21 West.

The department sent a release out shortly after 5:30 PM stating the crash occurred when the officer was en route to a fatality scene during heavy rain. While traveling on Highway 21 West, the patrol unit hydroplaned on the wet roadway, causing the officer to lose control and leave the roadway in a single‑vehicle crash.

Emergency crews transported the officer to a local hospital to be evaluated for possible injuries. No additional vehicles were involved.

The fatal crash the officer was responding to remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Madisonville Police have not yet released further details regarding that incident.

The department has not announced the officer’s condition but stated that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
