Child Predator Sentenced to 60 Years
CONROE, TEXAS — A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after a jury found he repeatedly sexually assaulted a young child who bravely disclosed the abuse to a trusted adult, prompting an investigation that ultimately led to his conviction.
On July 22, 2026, a Montgomery County jury convicted Josean Michael Vallejo, 31, of two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and one count of Indecency with a Child by Contact. The three‑day trial began July 20 in the 221st District Court, where Judge Lisa Michalk presided.
The case began when the child reported ongoing abuse, leading to an investigation by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Detective Max Fruchtnicht. As part of that investigation, the child participated in a forensic interview at Children’s Safe Harbor and underwent a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner evaluation. During trial, prosecutors presented evidence showing Vallejo assaulted the child repeatedly over an extended period and used grooming and manipulation to facilitate the abuse. Jurors also heard testimony regarding Vallejo’s own explanation for his conduct before returning guilty verdicts on all counts.
After convicting Vallejo, jurors assessed 60 years’ imprisonment on each aggravated sexual assault charge and 20 years for indecency with a child by contact. The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently, resulting in a total of 60 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Assistant District Attorneys Ann Kuykendall and Erin Delano prosecuted the case. Kuykendall said the child’s courage and the adults who listened, made justice possible, noting that every child deserves to be believed and protected when they speak up about abuse. District Attorney Mike Holley said that while no sentence can restore a stolen childhood, convictions like this remove predators from the community and affirm that children who come forward will not stand alone.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office commended prosecutors, investigators, forensic professionals, victim advocates, and jurors for their collective work in securing justice in the case.
