Another Sex Offender Arrested For Failing to Comply With Registration Requirement

HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS — The Huntsville Police arrested Adam D. Saylor early Thursday morning after officers reported that he failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements and attempted to evade law enforcement. The arrest occurred at 100 Lakeridge Drive at 12:47 a.m. on July 17, 2026.

According to police, officers made contact with Saylor and discovered that he was allegedly out of compliance with his legally mandated sex offender registration obligations. During the encounter, Saylor allegedly attempted to flee, leading to an additional charge of Evading Arrest before officers took him into custody.

Saylor is required to register as a sex offender for life, with annual verification, based on a 2012 conviction in Illinois. Court records show he was convicted of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a charge defined under 720 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/12‑16(b). The case involved a 17‑year‑old female victim who was a family member. The disposition date for the offense was June 25, 2012.

Texas law requires individuals with lifetime registration obligations to maintain accurate and up‑to‑date information with law enforcement, including address changes, employment details, and other personal identifiers. Failure to comply can result in felony charges, and additional penalties may apply when a suspect attempts to evade police.

Saylor was transported to the Walker County Jail following the arrest. All suspects are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
