Huntsville ISD Approves 10th Consecutive Pay Raise, Raises Starting Teacher Salary to $56,000
By Staff Writer
Huntsville ISD has approved another major investment in its employees, marking the district’s 10th consecutive year of pay increases. The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the administration’s recommended compensation package at last week’s meeting. District leaders emphasized that Huntsville ISD has continued to provide annual raises while maintaining a balanced budget through conservative and forward‑thinking financial management.
The new compensation plan includes the following increases:
- Teachers: $3,500 raise for all certified teachers and specific non‑certified teachers, including CTE instructors.
- Instructional Assistants: $1,750 raise.
- All Other Job Roles: 5% pay increase.
- Starting Teacher Salary: Increased to $56,000 for first‑year teachers.
The Board also approved an increase to the district’s contribution toward TRS health insurance. Huntsville ISD will now contribute $450 per month, up from $400, to help offset rising insurance costs for employees.
District officials said the goal is to invest in the people who directly impact students every day.
“We are proud to continue investing in the incredible people who make a difference for students every day,” the district stated.
