New Waverly, Texas – Around 9 AM this morning an 18-wheeler struck some power lines near the New Waverly City Hall on Gibbs Street.
The truck appears to have minor smoke damage from the arc the power lines created upon being pulled down by the truck’s 13 1/2 foot tall trailer. It appears only one utility customer was impacted by the incident.
Elsewhere around the area, Entergy was conducting routine maintenance in the area of Hwy 75 and FM 2296. The scheduled maintenance impacted over 300 customers with power outages this morning.
Utility crews were also in the area of Hwy 75 in New Waverly assisting an oversized load moving through the area. Neither incidents were linked to damage caused by the 18-wheeler.
