Another Area Sex Offender Arrested for Alleged Registration Violations
TRINITY COUNTY — Trinity County authorities have arrested Eric Jason Crowell, 52, after he allegedly failed to comply with sex‑offender registration requirements mandated under Texas law.
Crowell, a resident of The Landing Subdivision in Trinity County, was taken into custody on July 12, 2026 and booked into the Trinity County Jail.
Deputies served two felony warrants issued out of Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 for:
- Fail to Comply Sex Offender Duty to Register – Lifetime Annual (F3) — Warrant No. 260047‑A
- Fail to Comply Sex Offender Duty to Register – Lifetime Annual (F3) — Warrant No. 260047‑B
Both counts are third‑degree felonies, each carrying a potential penalty of 2–10 years in prison if convicted.
Crowell’s lifetime registration stems from a 1994 conviction for:
- Offense: Indecency With a Child by Contact
- Statute: Texas Penal Code 21.11(a)(1)
