WORLD’S LARGEST CHIP MANUFACTURING PLANT ONE STEP CLOSER
GRIMES COUNTY, TEXAS — Last night, the Anderson/Shiro Consolidated Independent School District voted to approve a tax abatement deal between the school district and SpaceX. A real estate holding company with ties to Elon Musk had purchased land around the Gibbons Creek Reservoir slated to become the world‘s largest computer chip manufacturer known as “SpaceX’s Terafab”
Space and Grimes County previously worked out a $20 million annual tax abatement deal. The next step for the project will be Governor Greg Abbott’s approval of the project’s tax abatements.
The project will likely bring thousands of jobs to our area. Many jobs will be entry level positions ranging from materials handlers, site maintenance, security, and a large custodial staff, as computer chip manufacturing requires a dust free environment.
