Alleged Gang Members In Custody After Being Accused of Burglaries In Southeast Texas, Including Huntsville
By Staff Writer
SOUTHEAST TEXAS — A months‑long investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has dismantled a sprawling burglary ring tied to commercial break‑ins across four Southeast Texas counties, authorities announced Monday. The investigation involved the Huntsville Police and Walker County Sheriff’s Department.
The case allegedly began after a burglary at the Shell Gas Station in The Woodlands, where CRU investigators quickly identified a suspect vehicle registered to Tyrese Nicholas. The same vehicle and the same group of suspects was allegedly linked to a Tractor Supply burglary in Conroe later that night.
As detectives expanded their investigation, they discovered the crew’s activity allegedly stretched across Montgomery, Harris, Walker, and Grimes counties. The suspect vehicle was later located in Houston, where CRU partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division (DPS CID). DPS linked the group to additional alleged burglaries in Navasota, Huntsville, and Willis.
On March 3, 2026, West Command patrol deputies pursued alleged suspects tied to the burglary ring shortly after they allegedly committed a burglary in Grimes County. The pursuit ended with the arrest of Angel Ponce, who was charged with evading arrest.
On April 9, 2026, CRU units working with the Conroe Police Department conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles associated with the crew. Deputies identified all occupants and recovered stolen property from an alleged Huntsville burglary, including tobacco products and clothing worn during the crime.
Through coordinated work with DPS, Houston Police Department, Conroe Police Department, Tomball Police Department, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, investigators secured arrest warrants for six Houston‑area suspects. All have been taken into custody on charges of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity:
- Angel Ponce — Accused Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Tyrese Nicholas — Accused Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Reginald Bryant — Accused Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Kameron Rivera‑Davis — Accused Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Warrick Mason — Accused Gang member with multiple felony convictions
- Jaylin Jefferson — Accused Gang member with multiple felony convictions
Investigators estimate the burglary ring is responsible for approximately $25,000 in stolen property, including power tools, hand tools, cigarettes, clothing, and other tobacco products.
The Sheriff’s Office credited the successful takedown to extensive collaboration among regional law‑enforcement partners, including:
- Texas Department of Public Safety
- Conroe Police Department
- Houston Police Department
- Tomball Police Department
- Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office
- Grimes County Sheriff’s Office

Arrest are based on allegations and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
