Area Explosion Triggers Multi Agency Response
By Staff Writer
Madisonville, Texas – Fire crews were already on scene along FM 1452 conducting fire‑watch operations and overhaul from the earlier oil‑pad blaze when, at approximately 7:45 PM, another explosion occurred. The blast triggered a new round of flames across the pad.
Despite the intensity of the incident, no injuries were reported, the department said.
Following the secondary explosion, additional manpower and apparatus were requested. Tankers and engines from Madisonville, North Zulch, and Normangee fire departments responded to reinforce the operation.
Crews reapplied fire‑suppression foam, allowing firefighters to once again knock down and fully re‑extinguish the fire.
Firefighters remained on scene into the evening to ensure the area stayed secure and to monitor for any further flare‑ups. Officials did not report any threat to nearby homes or roadways.
