ONALASKA, Texas -The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says a major drug seizure was made Tuesday after Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the Creekside Subdivision off FM 356 in Onalaska.

Detectives say the investigation began with citizen tips and led to a “knock and talk” that developed into probable cause. A warrant was signed by Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Sarah Rasberry.

Inside the home, investigators reported finding:

  • 16 pounds of high‑grade marijuana
  • 115 THC vape pens
  • 8 ounces of THC wax
  • Marijuana edibles
  • Multiple firearms

Detectives also found marijuana edibles packaged to look like common candy and snacks, allegedly left in areas easily accessible to young children living in the home.

Two suspects were arrested:

  • Mohammad Shoaib, Onalaska
  • Komal Jiwani, Onalaska (also had outstanding warrants out of Trinity County)

Charges include:

  • Possession of Marijuana 5–50 lbs — Third‑Degree Felony
  • Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance PG2 4–400g — First‑Degree Felony
  • Three counts of Child Endangerment

Sheriff Byron Lyons said narcotics accessible to children remain a top enforcement priority. Chief Deputy Lowrie thanked citizens for reporting suspicious activity, noting that community tips play a major role in narcotics investigations.

Anyone with information about illegal drug activity is encouraged to contact the Polk County Narcotics Division or Polk County Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
