Huntsville Memorial Hospital Names New Chief Executive Officer
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS — Huntsville Memorial Hospital has officially appointed Terry Scoggin, C.P.A., as its new Chief Executive Officer, solidifying a leadership transition that began when he stepped into the Interim CEO role in January 2026. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the hospital as it continues strengthening services, stability, and community partnerships.
During his interim tenure, Scoggin worked closely with the hospital board, leadership team, clinicians, and community stakeholders to reinforce organizational stability and rebuild momentum. His efforts centered on aligning service line strategy with community needs, expanding access to care, and growing key clinical services.
The hospital also highlighted his emphasis on transparent communication, both internally and externally, which has helped rebuild trust and engagement across the organization.
Scoggin said the mission of community hospitals has guided his work at HMH, adding, “Community hospitals are built on trust, connection, and service… I’m proud to be given the opportunity to work alongside the dedicated HMH team and community stakeholders to advance health care for OUR community.
Before coming to Huntsville, Scoggin served seven years as CEO of Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, where he led major service line transformations and implemented the Epic EMR system, making Titus the only independent rural health system in Texas operating on that platform.
He also recently served as Interim CEO for the Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals (TORCH), representing 156 rural hospitals statewide in advocacy and policy efforts.
Scoggin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and the Corps of Cadets. He later earned a Master of Science in Health Care Transformation from the University of Texas at Austin and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1995.
His statewide and national advocacy work includes service on the Texas Hospital Association Council on Policy Development, the THA Executive Board, the TORCH Executive Board, and the American Hospital Association Future of Rural Task Force.
His civic contributions have also been recognized: he was named the 2023 Mount Pleasant Chamber Citizen of the Year and honored as a NOSORH Rural Health Community Star.
Scoggin and his wife, Tracie, have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Walker County community and say they remain committed to leading with purpose, compassion, and care.
