Animal Cruelty Investigation Underway
POLK COUNTY, TEXAS — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after a dog was found shot multiple times and killed late last week near Duff Road.
Deputies say the case was reported on August 23, 2026, after the victim discovered his dog deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting is believed to have occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on August 22 and 12:20 AM on August 23 in the 4700 block of Duff Road.
Investigators are working to identify whoever is responsible and are urging residents in the area to review any overnight activity.

Authorities say they are seeking information about anyone walking, driving, or operating an off‑road vehicle in the area during the timeframe of the incident.
