Death Investigation Leads to Arrest of Onalaska Man
Additional Victims and Witnesses asked to come forward
ONALASKA, TEXAS — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Onalaska man in connection with an ongoing investigation into the death of Kelly Taylor Mariah Little, a mother of three whose death on May 23, 2026, prompted a wide ranging inquiry.
According to investigators, multiple witnesses have come forward since the case began, providing evidence that led detectives to scrutinize the alleged activities of Cody Allen Laviolette, 36. Their findings resulted in Laviolette’s arrest on the evening of July 10, 2026. He is charged with Aggravated Assault (Felony 2) and Unlawful Restraint (Felony 3).
Laviolette’s mother, Patty Laviolette, was also taken into custody. She faces a charge of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony.
As the investigation has expanded, several women have contacted authorities to report alleged prior interactions with Cody Laviolette. Detectives say they have identified additional individuals who may possess information but have not yet come forward. Some potential witnesses reportedly may believe, based on statements Laviolette allegedly made, that he is protected by his own and his family’s influence in the Onalaska area.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have witnessed criminal activity involving Laviolette, or who believes they may have been a victim, to contact investigators. Officials say additional information could be critical to advancing the case and addressing related criminal conduct.
