Huntsville Man Arrested for Possession of Machine Gun
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS – On Saturday evening, May 30, around 5:30 PM, officers with the Huntsville Police Department made contact with a male suspect in the 300 block of MLK. The individual was identified as Amarion Allen, age 21.
During the encounter, police discovered that Allen was in possession of a machine gun, a prohibited weapon under Texas law when the person fails to have the required registration with ATF and tax stamp. He was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
Court records show that Allen previously faced a Class A misdemeanor charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury in 2022. That case, filed in Walker County was later dismissed.
A bond for Allen was set at $30,000. The suspect remains in the Walker County Jail pending trial.
The investigation into the current arrest remains ongoing. It’s unknown if the suspect will face additional Federal firearms charges in addition to the state charge he now faces.
