Huntsville High School Celebrates the Class of 2026 with Pride and Tradition

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Huntsville High School Class of 2026 is preparing to close out their senior year with a week of memorable events leading up to graduation on Saturday, May 23, at the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.

The final week of the 2025–2026 school year begins Monday, May 18, with Field Day at Northside Baptist Church. Seniors will report to the cafeteria by 7:50 a.m. and ride the bus to and from the event.

On Tuesday, May 19, students will enjoy a Senior Breakfast in the small gym from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m., followed by a movie in the auditorium and a “Pride and Prejudice” costume contest.

Wednesday, May 20, brings Cap and Gown distribution in the Paul Bohan Gym at 8 a.m., followed by elementary school visits. Seniors must ride the bus to each school.

Thursday, May 21, is Graduation Practice, beginning at 7:15 a.m. in the Paul Bohan Gym. Seniors are required to ride the bus to and from practice.

Finally, on Saturday, May 23, graduation day arrives. Graduation, Transportation to Graduation is on your own. Report to HKC by 8:30 am (across from Coliseum).

Graduation Ceremony Details

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m., with doors opening for guests at 8:30 a.m. Faculty members in black robes will assist graduates with seating assignments. ADA seating will be available on a first-come basis.

Graduates are reminded to follow the clear bag policy and arrive fully dressed in their cap, gown, and tassel. There will be no place to change clothes at the venue.

Dress Code Guidelines

  • Male students: White or light-colored long-sleeved shirts with dark ties, dress slacks or black jeans, and dress shoes or boots.
  • Female students: Dresses, skirt suits, or pants with dress shoes.
  • Not permitted: Shorts, flip-flops, shower shoes, blue jeans, and extremely high heels.
    Graduates should write their name inside their cap. Decorations on caps or tassels are not allowed.

At the end of the ceremony, graduates will toss their caps during the school song and exit to meet guests in the side plazas.

Parking and Venue Policies

Guests attending the ceremony will have access to the Coliseum Parking Garage adjacent to the venue.

Special guests and wheelchair patrons may park in designated ADA lots east of the Coliseum, with golf cart shuttles available for elderly or disabled attendees.

Bag Policy

  • Clear bags: No larger than 12”x12”x6”
  • Small clutch bags: No larger than 4.5”x6.5”
  • Prohibited items: Food, drinks, umbrellas, weapons, strollers, pets, and wrapped gifts.
    Blankets, cameras, and cell phones are permitted. Service animals must be trained and certified.

The Huntsville High School Class of 2026 has reached the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. As they walk the stage, they carry with them the pride of their community and the promise of bright futures ahead.
