Huntsville Restaurant Health Inspector’s Report

Huntsville, Texas – Here are the findings from the July 2024 City of Huntsville Health Department restaurant inspection on the China House restaurant located at 2105 Sam Houston Avenue :
- Food stored in non-food grade container
- Raw meat stored above ready-to-eat foods in cooler.
- Sanitizer solution must be available to disinfect surfaces
- Slicer must be cleaned
- Management must have proper knowledge of food safety
- improper hand washing
- All product held longer than 24 hours must be labeled with 7 day expiration date
- Wiping cloths must be used properly and stored inside sanitizer buckets
- Product stored on floor
- Frozen product observed being thawed improperly in 3 compartment sink
- Bulk containers need to be labeled with product name
- Kitchen floors need to be cleaned
- Vent hood filters need to be cleaned
The overall score for the China House was 78. A re-inspection of the restaurant will be required by the City of Huntsville Health Department.
China House was the only restaurant in last month’s City of Huntsville Health Department report to require re-inspection.
