Onalaska Police Arrest An Alleged Child Predator

ONALASKA, TEXAS — The Onalaska Police have arrested a 25‑year‑old man following an investigation into an alleged predatory  offenses involving a child, according to a press release issued by the department.

Onalaska officers took Omar Mosqueda, 25, into custody on August 11, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m. after developing information during a child predatory offense investigation. Mosqueda was booked into the Polk County Jail on a charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault.

Police say the case remains active, and due to the victim’s age and the sensitive nature of the allegations, no additional details are being released at this time.

In the statement, the Onalaska Police Department emphasized its commitment to protecting children, noting that allegations of child abuse and predatory abuse are handled “thoroughly, professionally, and with the seriousness they deserve.” The department added that safeguarding children is a responsibility shared across the community.

Investigators also thanked the Sam Houston Police Department and Childrenz Haven for their cooperation and assistance during the investigation. All suspects are innocent, less proven guilty in a court of law.
