Area Bank Robber in Custody

Palestine, Texas – Yesterday (08-09-2024) at around 3:41 PM a male suspect when into the First Convenience Bank located inside of the Walmart in Palestine, Texas and demanded a large amount of money from a bank employee.
The suspect then stated that he would use force if they didn’t give him the money. A bank employee was then able to text a relative stating they were being robbed. 911 was contacted.
Officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as Joseph White, 20, of Palestine.
White was still standing at the bank counter when Officers arrived. No weapons were located in White’s possession.
White was transported to the Anderson County Jail and booked in without incident. White is facing a second-degree felony robbery charge.
