Sam Houston University has awarded Page Southerland Page, Inc. and architecture firm DLR Group a contract to renovate the Elliott T. Bowers Football Stadium.

A new structure will span approximately 47,000 gross square feet, adding an additional 13,000 square feet of covered exterior space.

The renovated facility will include upgraded concessions and restrooms, premium seating options and suites with access to outdoor balcony seating.

Financing for the $60,000,000 project is being done through a combination of bonds and the contributions from donors.

Upgrades to the west side of the stadium will include a state-of-the-art press box and coaches area.

Currently installation of new turf and track surfaces are underway at the stadium. Design documents are slated for submission to the Texas State University System Board of Regents for approval in August 2024.

The Construction is scheduled to be complete prior to the 2026 football season. The University plans on continuing to use the stadium for the 2025 season.
