Larger Casino Opening in East Texas

LEGGETT, TEXAS – The Alabama‑Coushatta Tribe of Texas has announced plans to open a new temporary casino facility this summer on its tribal reservation land in Leggett. The project marks a major step toward the future Naskila Casino Resort, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for June 18, 2026.
The temporary casino will operate 24 hours a day, featuring 300 electronic bingo machines, a 24‑hour deli, fountain drink station, player’s club, and parking for approximately 300 vehicles. Tribal leaders say the facility will serve as both an entertainment destination and an economic catalyst for Polk County and surrounding communities.
“This temporary facility will provide a positive economic impact for Polk County, surrounding communities, and for the Alabama‑Coushatta Tribe,” said Chairman Ricky Sylestine. “It will create 110 new jobs, strengthen local partnerships, and establish a foundation for long‑term tourism growth.”
The new Naskila Casino Resort will be built across from the temporary site, expanding the tribe’s gaming and hospitality footprint in East Texas.
The Alabama‑Coushatta Tribe currently operates Naskila Casino and Ischoopa Travel Center on U.S. Highway 190 Park Road 56 between Livingston and Woodville. Since opening in 2016, Naskila Casino has become a regional attraction with Class II bingo machines, Timbers Grille Restaurant, Café Itto Si, and a player’s club. The nearby Ischoopa Travel Center offers fuel, a convenience store, and additional gaming options.
The tribe’s expansion underscores its commitment to economic development, job creation, and tourism growth throughout East Texas.
