Huntsville Stonehenge is Now a Five Star Tourist Attraction

Huntsville, Texas – Huntsville Stonehenge is now listed as a five star tourist attraction on Google. One visitor to the attraction wrote, “historians have been trying to figure out the purpose of these stones for the past 2 years”.
Visitors are left wondering if this attraction was built by aliens. I wonder if this attraction channels energy of non transparency that allows gossip to be the main driving source of information in our community.
One visiter to the attraction wrote, “when the cloud cover is just right, the rebar acts as an antenna and picks up the conversations of people driving down IH-45 and complaining about road construction.” This leaves me wondering if the gossip from those who visit Huntsville Stonehenge is on point.
When asked where I get my information from, don’t be surprised if you see me in the pillars of Huntsville’s Stonehenge channeling the government open records spirits, who keep public information away from the public in our community.
Now to the bureaucrats who control public Information and use it as a tool of power and control, be wise with the publicly owned information you try to control. When secrecy is used over transparency, be ready for gossip to prevail over the truth.
Gossip is ugly in our community. It’s also the result of years of non transparency among many leaders. Times are changing with instant information at our fingertips. The information can either be gossip or the truth.
Greater transparency couldn’t come at a better time, unfortunately many barriers to greater transparency were errected by several of our elected leaders. Encrypt it, redact it, danger dishonesty, and imaginary privacy laws are just a few methods bureaucrats use to deny the public access to information they own.
As the bureaucracy continues to spend more of our money, we need to be asking more questions. Peering at our expansive local government, I’m shocked at the amount of unnecessary “sugar goodies” our previous city manager allowed department heads to purchase. Walker County is the 31st poorest county in Texas, the unnecessary expansive behavior and lack of transparency is something our residents can’t afford.
The theme of “trust us, we’re the government” doesn’t sit well with many taxpayers who demand answers on how their money is being used. In the end it comes down to do you want truth or fiction (gossip). Our elected leaders get to choose what the story is going to be, we get to choose our elected leaders.
