18 Wheeler Fire Shuts Down FM 247 for Almost 4 Hours

Huntsville- An 18 wheeler loaded with hay caught on fire around 5 this afternoon (08-24-2024), north of Huntsville on FM 247 near Lost Indian Camp Road. FM 247 was closed for almost 4 hours while fire crews contained the fire.

The Crabbs Prairie Volunteer Fire Department and the Huntsville Fire Department responded to the scene to contain the fire. The fire crews were able to save the 18 wheeler tractor and trailer by off loading the burning hay bales.

USE CAUTION in this area, as the unloaded bales will likely burn over the next several days due to internal combustion.
