Former Nanny Arrested on Indecency Charge
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TEXAS — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 21‑year‑old Evan Joseph Moore following an investigation by the Special Victims Unit (SVU) on allegations of child abuse.
On June 17, 2026, SVU investigators took Moore into custody for allegations of Indecency with a Child. The case began after the Sheriff’s Office received allegations involving Moore, who had worked for several years in the Montgomery County area as a babysitter and nanny. During the investigation, one child under the age of 14 disclosed inappropriate abuse by Moore.
Moore was arrested without incident and is currently charged with Indecency with a Child. According to the Sheriff’s Office, additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
Because Moore previously worked as a caregiver for multiple families, investigators believe there may be additional victims. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have been victimized by Moore to come forward.
The Special Victims Unit can be reached at 936‑760‑5876.
Anonymous tips may be submitted through Multi‑County Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑392‑STOP (7867) or online.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office states it remains committed to protecting children and ensuring justice for victims of abuse.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Arrests are based on allegations.
