TDCJ Officer Arrested for Delivery / Offering to Deliver Dangerous Drugs

Huntsville, Texas – Effray Straughter Jr., age 59, was arrested by the Texas Board of Criminal Justice’s Office of Inspector General Monday for allegedly Delivery / Offering to Deliver Dangerous Drugs.
Effray was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on March 13, 2024 and according to public records was a Correctional Officer IV with an annual salary of $61,695.
Effray was booked into the Walker County Jail and was released today on a $5,000 bond by Walker County Justice of the Peace Steve Fisher.
TDCJ’s public information officer refused to make any comment regarding the arrest of their officer.
All suspects are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
