Riverside, TX- <\/strong>On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at approximately 7:25PM, Walker County Public Safety Communications received a call regarding a suicidal individual armed with a firearm in the 100 block of Twin Creek Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Upon arrival, deputies encountered the individual, who was reportedly in a state of crisis. Deputies engaged in communication to de-escalate the situation for over an hour. Unfortunately, the situation escalated, leading to the deputies discharging their firearms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Emergency medical personnel from Walker County EMS provided first aid; however, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Precinct Three, Judge Randy Jeffcoat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In accordance with department policy, the deputies involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave.
