With the help of the fire department and the landlord, investigators forced entry into the locked residence.

Inside, Bundage was found face down in the kitchen, his body severely decomposed. According to the arrest affidavit, officers documented blood on the front door and pantry door near the body.

The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office notified Huntsville Police on August 11 that Bundage had suffered numerous sharp force injuries, including:

A severely severed ear

At least two stab wounds to the chest

A wound to the abdomen

Injuries to the palm, leg, and back

These findings prompted investigators to review Bundage’s history, where they discovered multiple prior reports involving Williams allegedly stabbing or attempting to stab him.

According to the arrest affidavit witnesses told investigators they had not seen Bundage for several days. A witness said the last time he saw Williams, known locally as “Tootie”, she was walking away from the residence wearing all yellow and carrying bags, roughly 4–5 days before police found Bundage.

Another witness told detectives she received two calls from Williams. One call on August 7, the day Bundage’s body was found, Williams allegedly stated during the call she “did not seem concerned” about his death. During a second call on August 9, Williams said she “thought she knew what happened” and suggested Bundage “slipped on some cans.”

Williams was on community supervision through Walker County Adult Probation. Her probation officer reported that Williams emailed him at 3:40 AM on August 9, requesting her probation be transferred to Polk County.

Investigators also learned Bundage last reported to work on July 29, 2026. His supervisor confirmed Bundage had told him two days earlier that Williams had returned and he planned to let her stay because she “had nowhere else to go.”

Williams was arrested on an unrelated charge in Polk County on August 20. During a custodial interview with Texas Ranger Randall Woodard and Huntsville Police, Williams made several alleged incriminating statements.

According to the affidavit, Williams allegedly said:

“She and Howard got into a really bad fight and she blacked out.” When she regained consciousness, she said, “she saw Howard on the floor… and she had blood on her.

Williams admitted she touched Bundage’s hand and it was cold. She is alleged to have told investigators, “Knowing her history she probably stabbed him and if Howard is dead, it’s because of me.” She also allegedly acknowledged previously telling others that she stabbed Bundage.

The affidavit states Williams said she remembered walking from the bedroom into the kitchen as Bundage approached her. She claimed she had “something in her hand,” possibly a knife or a beer can, and that Bundage collapsed.

Investigators concluded there was probable cause and evidence to charge Williams with Murder, a first‑degree felony.

Other affidavits obtained by News 24 Texas, show a prior alleged violent incidents on January 1, 2024, when Huntsville Police responded to the same residence for a domestic disturbance. The charge was later dropped by the Walker County District Attorney’s Office.

Williams allegedly became violent with jail staff.
