Bravo later died from the injuries he allegedly received from the incident.

Legion Hall, after the 19th annual Chigger Hill during an altercation at the Huntsville Americ allegedly received.

The order, signed August 12, 2026, by State District Court Judge David Moorman, stems from a hearing held the previous afternoon, where the court denied the State’s Plea to the Jurisdiction and proceeded with Losee’s request for an examining trial and bond review.

The State filed its jurisdiction plea on the day of the hearing, arguing the court lacked authority to consider Losee’s petition. Judge Moorman disagreed, citing Article 16.01 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, which guarantees defendants the right to an examining trial before indictment and authorizes the magistrate to set bail at that hearing.

“The Court finds that it had jurisdiction to hear the Defendant’s Petition for an Examining Trial, which also included a request to set bond,” the order states.

Both sides stipulated that Losee had been in custody more than 90 days, and the State acknowledged it had not filed an indictment or information as of the August 11 hearing.

Under Article 17.151 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, a defendant held on a felony charge must be released on personal bond or have bail reduced if the State is not ready for trial within 90 days.

“A defendant who is detained in jail pending trial… must be released either on personal bond or by reducing the amount of bail required,” the statute reads. Judge Moorman ruled that Losee qualified for mandatory relief.

Losee’s bond had previously been reduced to $300,000 on June 30, after the judge reviewed evidence of his ability to pay, the court lowered the bond again, this time to a $50,000 surety.

The reduction keeps in place all conditions previously ordered by Judge Fisher on May 5, 2026. The court also noted that without an indictment or information, it cannot impose additional bond conditions.

The new order recounts two earlier hearing settings:

At the first, Losee’s attorney failed to appear.

At the second, the State sought a continuance, claiming insufficient notice. The court granted the delay and reset the matter for August 11 at 3:30 p.m.

Despite those delays, the judge accused the Walker County District Attorney’s office of dropping the ball, stating the State still had not filed charges by the time of the hearing.

The accused murder defendant was released from the Walker County Jail yesterday, after being released on a $50,000 surety bond.
