{"id":1733,"date":"2026-07-20T12:22:36","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T12:22:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hvhappens.com\/?p=1733"},"modified":"2026-07-20T12:22:39","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T12:22:39","slug":"upcoming-texas-boxer-killed-in-raging-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hvhappens.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/20\/upcoming-texas-boxer-killed-in-raging-incident\/","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming Texas Boxer Killed In Raging Incident"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas \u2014 A 26\u2011year\u2011old Texas A&amp;M University employee and rising boxer was killed Saturday morning after investigators say a driver allegedly intentionally reversed his vehicle into a group of bicyclists along FM 159.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputies with the Brazos County Sheriff\u2019s Office were dispatched just before 10 a.m. to the 23000 block of FM 159 for reports of a major crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. When first responders arrived, they found Hannah Rapp lying in the roadway. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she later died despite emergency efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the sheriff\u2019s office, investigators learned that the driver, identified as 31 year old Charles Medina, had passed two bicyclists traveling along the roadway. After passing them, officials say Medina stopped his vehicle, reversed, and struck Rapp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medina was arrested and charged with manslaughter. He was booked into the Brazos County Detention Center. Detectives say the case remains active as they continue gathering evidence, but they currently believe the incident was isolated. Charges may be upgraded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rapp\u2019s father, James Rapp, said the family is still reeling from the shock of losing their daughter, describing her as someone who \u201cgrabbed a hold of life by the tail\u201d from the time she was a little girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, he thanked the community for the outpouring of support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStill in a shock and with our hearts still so heavy over the loss of our sweet beautiful girl, I want to thank each and everyone who has shared a little story or tidbit or thought for healing peace. You are all so wonderful, you help us carry this terrible burden.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said Hannah lived with a spirit of adventure and surrounded herself with people who shared that same energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHannah LIVED life\u2026 She lived to share her spirit of life and exploration and adventure with anyone who was willing to ride along.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rapp also spoke about Hannah\u2019s boyfriend, Will Pollalis, saying the two were \u201cperfectly matched\u201d and deeply happy together. Pollalis witnessed the crash, something her father called \u201ca tragic thing for Will to have to see.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He described the driver\u2019s actions as a \u201ccoward\u2019s act of road rage,\u201d saying the bicyclists were simply riding along a country road when Medina allegedly reversed into them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHannah was struck and killed by the coward\u2019s actions,\u201d he said. \u201cAgain, thank you one and all.
