As the case widened, several women also reported prior interactions with Laviolette, according to the sheriff\u2019s department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the evening of July 10, 2026, deputies arrested Laviolette on two felony charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aggravated Assault (Felony 2)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unlawful Restraint (Felony 3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Six days later, on July 16, 2026, investigators submitted two additional felony charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child (Felony 1)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aggravated Assault causing Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon (Felony 1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge is reviewing Texas\u2019 updated violent offender statute, which allows courts to impose no bond on certain high risk defendants. According to the sheriff\u2019s office, the review is intended to determine whether denying bond on the new charges is warranted to protect the community and prevent further acts of violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office says the investigation remains active and may expand further as more individuals come forward. Detectives are urging anyone who believes they may have been a victim or who witnessed criminal activity involving Laviolette to contact investigators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Witness information \u201cmay assist in addressing these matters and advancing the ongoing investigation,\u201d the department said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals with information are asked to reach out to investigators Craig Finegan, Jessi Stanton, or Kayla Hemperly at the Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office at 936\u2011327\u20116810.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspect remains in the Polk County Jail pending additional bond hearings.
