The storm is expected to track along the Texas coastline today before moving inland over southwestern Louisiana tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Huntsville is well inland and outside the tropical storm warning zone, the region is firmly within Arthur\u2019s heavy rainfall corridor. Forecast totals of 5 to 10 inches, with isolated pockets approaching 20 inches, could lead to dangerous flash flooding, especially in low\u2011lying and flood\u2011prone areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key concerns for the Huntsville area include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Flash flooding risk \u2014 Rapid rises in creeks, bayous, and urban drainage areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tornado potential \u2014 A couple of tornadoes are possible across the Upper Texas Coast region through Thursday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel hazards \u2014 Periods of heavy rain and gusty winds may make driving hazardous.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Power disruptions \u2014 Saturated ground and sporadic wind gusts could lead to isolated outages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tropical\u2011storm\u2011force winds extend up to 175 miles from Arthur\u2019s center, and coastal locations such as Galveston have already reported gusts near 48 mph.
