An 18\u2011Year\u2011Old Conroe Man Involved in SWAT Standoff At McDonald\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CONROE, TEXAS – On June 9, 2026, at 2:12 p.m., Conroe Police officers were dispatched to the McDonald\u2019s at 1200 League Line Road after reports of an active disturbance. According to the Conroe Police , when officers arrived, they found 18\u2011year\u2011old Jeremiah Lawson sitting inside a vehicle and exhibiting signs of a mental health crisis, including suicidal ideations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers attempted to speak with Lawson and persuade him to exit the vehicle peacefully. According to police, Lawson was armed with several knives and refused repeated commands to come out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because Lawson remained armed, combative, and made multiple \u201csuicide by cop\u201d statements, the Conroe Police Department activated its SWAT team and crisis negotiators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For roughly two hours, negotiators attempted to de\u2011escalate the situation. Police say Lawson continued to behave belligerently and refused to surrender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SWAT officers ultimately used less\u2011lethal munitions to safely extract Lawson from the vehicle. He was taken into custody without serious injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawson was placed under an Emergency Detention Order and transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While at the hospital, police say Lawson became combative again and made violent threats toward officers. The Montgomery County District Attorney\u2019s Office accepted a Third Degree Felony Retaliation charge against the alleged suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once medically cleared, Lawson will be transferred to the Montgomery County Jail. Conroe Police Chief Buckholtz expressed gratitude that the situation ended without further harm:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
