CROCKETT, TEXAS – The Crockett Police Department has arrested a local man after a routine compliance check revealed he was using an unreported social media account, a violation of Texas sex offender registration laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the department, an officer conducted a compliance check earlier this week on James Michael Myers, 45, of Crockett, and discovered that Myers had an active social media account that was not disclosed to law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Texas law requires all registered sex offenders to report every social media account they use to their registration authority, which in Crockett is the local police department. These requirements are part of statewide efforts to monitor offenders and enhance community safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Myers is required to register as an offender following a conviction for possession of child exploitation material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After confirming the unreported account, authorities obtained a warrant charging Myers with Failure to Comply with the Duty to Register. He was arrested on June 4, 2026, and booked into the Houston County Jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
